Anything but basic.
Sometimes it is liberating to just go back to basics and keeping things refreshingly simple. With this build, Legacy Overland has taken a 4.2L 6-cylinder 2F gasoline engined Land Cruiser back to its unadulterated glorious past – a true chance to shed all things modern and just head out there. The comprehensively restored hardtop FJ-40 has had all internals taken apart and carefully reassembled with new parts or refurbished original components. The upholstery has been hand crafted to original designs, but with upgraded materials and to more exacting standards.
Period correct and refined.
While Legacy Overland kept the restoration within a true-to-classic vision, a vintage-correct air conditioning system was added to keep pace with the taste of the sophisticated clientele. The FJ-40 comes with a vintage-looking RetroSound stereo system and door mounted speakers.
Beyond these items, the build incorporates significant non-intrusive improvements throughout to increase reliability. For instance, electric cables and wire looms have been carefully protected by conduits, suspension is supported by Old Man Emu components and the car rides on a set of BFGoodrich All/Terrain tires.
Back to basics – sometimes it doesn’t get any better than true craftsmanship coupled with the classic looks of a FJ-40.
